If the pineapple is a universal expression of "welcome" then rush on down to Casa Maria in South Minneapolis for a tropical mouth-watering Bienvenidos! In fact, Welcome is the very first word on their website.
The greeting is exemplified in their Piña rellena, which is a half pineapple heartily stuffed with bacon, shrimp, ribeye steak, onions, spices, Oaxaca cheese, and pineapple chunks, all served with creamy green chile rice. This is a feast not only for the eyes, but also for the belly. This is not your typical Mexican restaurant. There are lots of yummy goodies here that you won't find anywhere else!
